How To Subscribe To A RSS Feed

Many sites that have content which changes often now offer RSS feeds.
An RSS feed publishes the newest updates to the site. You may view
this feed by subscribing to the RSS feed. This way, you don't have to
continually navigate to the website. If there's something in the feed
you want to read, you can just read it.
In order to read an RSS feed, you need something called an RSS Reader.
Almost all browsers now have this reader built in. In this tutorial,
we'll show you how to identify a page that offers a RSS feed and how to
subscribe to it, and then how to read it.

We'll use our own 4KCC Blog in our examples:
1) When you reach a page that has an
RSS feed, you will usually find an icon near the top of the page that
looks like the one on our blog page:
2) If you click on the icon and there is a
RSS feed available, you should be taken to a page which looks similar to
this one (choose your browser):

In Opera
3) With Internet Explorer, Firefox
and Opera, your next step would be to click the "Subscribe" button.
In the case of Safari, you would click the plus sign in the address bar
(see photo above.) Once you click subscribe, you will
get a pop up window like this one where you will need to click
"Subscribe or Add" depending on the browser:

4) Once you subscribe, the RSS feed
will be updated according to the settings in your browser. We're
not going to take get into how to change the time in this tutorial but
we'll cover that in another How To page in the near future.
In the meantime, now that you've added the RSS feed, you will need to
click to read it. Each of the four browsers we're showing has a
slightly different way of viewing the feed.
In Internet Explorer, you click on
Favorites, then Feeds, then the feed you want to read. Feeds with
new information are in bold:
In Firefox, using our example above, the
feed will appear in the toolbar:
In Safari, again using our example above,
the feed will appear in the toolbar:
In Opera, the feed will appear in Opera Mail, if that's the option you
choose:
If you aren't using RSS feeds now, you should start! These feeds
are a quick way to keep up-to-date with the sites that matter to you!
